Exclusion Blackwood

A version of Blackwood in which the jump to 5 of a suit asks partner to respond and not count the ace of the bid suit.  For example:

  A542                   1          3  (Limit)

  Q43                     5          ?

  75

  A765

You would respond 5, 1 ace,  as partner is not interested in the ace of clubs.  Partner may have something like:

KQT987

K2

KQJ43

Also some play it after a Texas Transfer:

    1NT   -    4      Texas transfer to spades

     4     -    5      Exclusion Blackwood ,

                              don't count the  Ace
