Vinge Trump Echo

All bridge hands of 13 cards must be one of 2 possible distributions:

1) 3 suits with an odd number of cards

     1 suit with an even number of cards

                              or

2) 3 suits with an even number of cards

     1 suit with an odd number of cards

So, playing Vinge Trump echo's, a Hi-Lo in the trump suit shows 2) above, 3 even suits, and playing up the line in trumps shows 1) above, 3 odd suits.
