Afair

A means of responding to a strong (15-18) 1NT opening bid, in a Stayman, Jacoby Transfer structure in which:

2     : 5-5 (or more) in 2 touching suits

           (&) or (&) or (&) or (&)

           Opener bids a forced 2NT and

           responder bids the lower of the suits

           The partnership may determine the

           strength of this call.

2NT:   Shows either a weak hand in a minor

           or game values with 2 small in both

           majors.

           Opener bids a forced 3  which responder

           may pass, bid a non-forcing 3  to play or

           bid 3NT.
